Job Description

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be part of a team that designs, tests, manufactures, and assembles landing gear for commercial aircraft and military aircraft. Our UK division in Gloucester has been at the forefront of cutting-edge technology for over 90 years, and we're looking for talented individuals to join our legacy.

Key Responsibilities

As a Manufacturing Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Creating and maintaining manufacturing layouts to define product routing and methods in line with company procedures.
  • Developing CNC programs using company-preferred CAM software and adopting robust methodologies to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Creating stage models to reflect component routing and content at each operation.
  • Designing new fixtures to ensure robust component holding and generating relevant fixture models and drawings.
  • Supporting the generation of PPAP documentation to define component characteristic measurement and control methodology.
  • Participating in PFMEA reviews to drive product and process improvements.
  • Supporting the deployment of new systems and tools in line with the company's 'Digital Strategy'.
  • Investigating and resolving defective parts and implementing corrective actions.
  • Assisting with the commissioning of new production assets.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles.
  • An HNC/HND in a related engineering discipline or equivalent manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of CATIA V5 or equivalent CAD software.
  • Sound knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing and Functional Tolerancing & Annotation of 2D & 3D Model-Based Definition.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Lean experience (Green Belt preferable).
  • Motivated to develop and learn new skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within allocated teams and communicate at various levels within the business.
