Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a Primary School in Darlington. As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with additional learning needs, adapting teaching strategies to meet their specific requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the teacher to deliver engaging and effective lessons, ensuring students receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Assist with planning and preparing teaching materials, ensuring they meet the learning objectives and cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Provide individual support to students, adapting teaching strategies to meet their specific needs and promoting a positive learning environment.
  • Supervise students during class and break times, maintaining a safe and inclusive atmosphere.
Requirements
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification desirable
  • Enhanced DBS check
  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a school setting
Preferred Qualifications
  • First Aid certification
  • Additional training in Special Educational Needs (SEN) support
Working Conditions

This role involves working within a school environment, following school hours and term times. The candidate may also assist with extracurricular activities and events.
