Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Safety and Reliability Engineer to join our team at Thales UK. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for identifying and mitigating safety risks associated with our products, as well as providing reliability analysis to support our engineering efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate reliability artefacts, such as Availability, Reliability & Maintainability Plans, Reliability predictions, Failure Mode, Effects & Criticality Analysis, Reliability Block Diagrams & Reliability Growth Analysis, to support product safety and supportability engineering.
  • Support reliability analysis for new products and highlight areas of concern that require reliability growth.
  • Act as the point of contact for reliability queries and provide expertise to internal stakeholders.
  • Generate safety artefacts, such as Safety & Environmental Management Plans, Hazard Logs and Safety & Environmental Case Reports, to support the product safety argument.
  • Facilitate hazard/risk identification, including functional failure analysis, Failure Mode & Effects Analysis, Fault & Event Tree Analysis.
  • Develop product safety & reliability requirements and support Project Design Authorities in achieving compliance with Legislation, Regulations and Standards applicable to the product(s).
  • Assist in generating reasonable bid estimates and peer review product safety-related and reliability artefacts generated by others in the team.
  • Manage multiple safety & reliability programmes, including scheduling and interacting with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Experience in the implementation and delivery of Product and System Safety and/or Reliability Engineering activities is highly desirable.
  • Ability to build positive and effective relationships with stakeholders, including team members and customers.
  • Attention to detail and willingness to share knowledge, develop others and learn.
