Job Title: Low Latency Network Engineer

Our client, a leading global financial institution, is seeking a talented Low Latency Network Engineer to join their high-performing team. This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge networking technologies and optimize their network for low-latency, high-performance trading operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement low-latency network infrastructure to optimize performance, minimize latency, and ensure high availability for global trading operations.
  • Optimize network performance by continuously monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing network performance to reduce latency, increase throughput, and improve overall network efficiency.
  • Implement low-latency networking protocols, including PTP, PPS, UDP, and multicast, to support high-frequency trading operations.
  • Conduct network capacity planning to evaluate current and future network bandwidth requirements, analyze traffic patterns, and plan for network expansion to support growing trading volumes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including traders, software developers, and infrastructure teams, to understand requirements, gather feedback, and ensure seamless integration of network solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network-related problems, including latency spikes, packet loss, and connectivity issues, in a time-sensitive trading environment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering roles, preferably within the financial industry or high-frequency trading environments.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, UDP, multicast, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and QoS.
  • Experience with low-latency networking protocols and technologies, such as Precision Time Protocol (PTP), Precision Packet Synchronization (PPS), and network timestamping.
  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting network devices, including switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, or Arista.
  • Understanding of network security concepts, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and DDoS mitigation.
  • Relevant certifications, such as CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent industry certifications, are highly desirable.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced trading environment, with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
