Job Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at East Coast Community Healthcare CIC.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality clinical care to patients, including those with complex needs, using investigative and analytical skills.
  • Accept clinical responsibility for a designated caseload of patients and organize care efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure a high standard of clinical care and support more junior staff to do likewise.
  • Formulate individualized management and treatment plans using clinical reasoning skills and a wide range of treatment skills.
  • Assess capacity, gain valid informed consent, and work within a legal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent to treatment.
  • Provide spontaneous and planned advice, teaching, and instruction to relatives, carers, and other professionals to promote understanding of the service and ensure a consistent approach to patient care.
  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with medical, nursing, and therapy colleagues to ensure delivery of a coordinated multidisciplinary service.
  • Be responsible for equipment used in carrying out duties and adhere to departmental policies, including competence to use equipment and ensure safe use by others.
Requirements:
  • Professional registration with the NMC and adherence to the NMC professional code of practice.
  • Maintain own clinical professional development (CPD) and identify objectives for personal development.
  • Participate in the staff appraisal scheme and Personal Development Programme (PDP).
  • Undertake measurement and evaluation of work and current practices through evidence-based practice projects, audit, and outcome measures.
  • Be aware of Health and Safety aspects of work and implement policies to improve safety of work area.
