Job Overview

We are seeking an Animal Health Specialist to join our Regulatory Services team in Argyll and Bute. The successful candidate will work 3 days a week, travelling extensively across the area to support animal health and welfare.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with livestock and be able to apply standards and regulations effectively. As this is a temporary post, consideration will be given to applicants who can take on a training program to achieve qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To work within the Bute, Cowal, and Helensburgh area, supporting colleagues and other government agencies to secure animal health and welfare standards.
  • To travel extensively across the area, responding to service demands and emergencies.
  • To work collaboratively with stakeholders, including farmers and agricultural businesses, to promote best practices and improve animal welfare.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Animal Science or related field.
  • Experience working with livestock, either in a similar role or through practical experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
