About the Role

As the Interim Finance Director at In Kind Direct, you will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy and direction of the organization. Reporting to the CEO, you will be part of the leadership team and contribute to the overall leadership, strategic direction, and decision-making of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and performance of financial strategies that enable long-term financial sustainability and efficient operations of the organization.
  • Advise the CEO and Board on financial strategies, including working with the Partnerships and Impact Director and Commercial Director to set philanthropic and commercial income strategies.
  • Implement and develop financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to support IKD's decision-making for increased impact and improve IKD's effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain internal finance controls, policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Lead decision-making on investments, reserves, and the management of financial strategy and risks, taking into account our approach to sustainability.

Requirements
  • Experience working at FD level with in-depth knowledge of financial and operational management, ideally including relevant experience within the charity sector.
  • Strategic thinker experienced in collaborative strategy development.
  • Fully qualified finance professional (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Understanding of eCommerce and distribution is highly desirable.
  • Wide experience of business planning, functional development, and performance reporting, including to the Board of Trustees.
  • Experience managing outsourced finance teams desirable.
  • An experienced leader with a track record of delivering ambitious goals, bringing together diverse, inclusive, high-performing teams.

  • Knowledge and experience of tax and accounting regulations.
  • Knowledge of the charity sector desirable.
