About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (Intervention) to join our team at The St Leonards Academy. As a key member of our SEN and Special Facility team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and ensuring their inclusion in all aspects of academy life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with special educational needs, focusing on behaviour and attendance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to prevent exclusions and promote positive behaviour.
  • Work closely with teachers, teaching assistants, and other support staff to ensure seamless support for students.
  • Collaborate with parents and carers to develop and implement personalized support plans.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of behaviour and attendance policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Patience, calmness, and enthusiasm in working with students.
  • Confidence in running stimulating, fun, and educational activities.
  • Ability to build and encourage confidence in students, allowing them to lead their own learning when appropriate.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
