Science Technician

GSL Education is seeking a highly skilled Science Technician to join our team at a coeducational secondary school and sixth form in Hackney. As a Science Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of practical science lessons, providing high-quality support to students, and contributing to the success of our students.

• Support teachers during practical lessons, ensuring all resources are ready and available.
• Maintain and organize the science laboratories, ensuring they are clean and well-stocked.
• Prepare and set up equipment and materials for science experiments.
• Assist in the safe disposal of chemical and biological waste.
• Manage and maintain an inventory of science equipment and resources.
• Support students during practical activities, providing guidance and ensuring safety protocols are followed.

• Previous experience working as a Science Technician in a school setting is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and best practices.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and students.
• A passion for science and education.
• Relevant qualifications in science or a related field.
