Job Summary:

Provide comprehensive administrative and clerical support to the Pre-Surgical Preparation team and Pre-Assessment in a team-based service. Ensure continuity of the service by retrieving medical records/case notes and integrating them into electronic records.

Main Duties:

  • Work as the ward clerk in reception areas to meet and greet patients.
  • Maintain accuracy and legibility of patient records in accordance with trust policies.
  • Request, collect, track, and manage patient records appropriately for the pre-surgical preparation service.
  • File patient information accurately in health records.
  • Confirm appointments with patients and arrange alternative appointments when necessary.
  • Answer the telephone in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Perform other clerical duties such as photocopying.
  • Greet patients with a welcoming and informative demeanor.
  • Treat patients with kindness and courtesy.
  • Recognize own limitations and seek advice when appropriate.
