Job Title: Lead Electrical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to join our Energy team at Dalkia. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of electrical systems for our Transmission and Distribution projects.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead and drive all technical aspects of the project team
  • Review and approve designs developed by the team, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and National Grid standards
  • Design and implement electrical systems, including substation protection and control systems
  • Ensure compliance with agreed procedures and standards
  • Interpret and verify customer-supplied data, specifications, and drawings
  • Lead the creation and modification of design packs, including system drawings, general arrangements, and schematics
  • Produce client design documentation, including design intent documents and test documentation
  • Lead site surveys and assist in the preparation of health and safety documentation
  • Support the project manager and others with planning the design and implementation of projects
Requirements:
  • Experience of substation protection and control systems within the Transmission and Distribution sector
  • Experience of field cabling systems, including surveying and identifying routes, cable calculations, and earthing/protection
  • Good working knowledge of National Grid TP (SR) standards
  • Proven experience as LCDAE/CDAE under NG/ET/SR188 (TP137)
  • Education to at least degree level in a relevant subject or HND with additional experience
  • Computer literate with Word, AutoCAD, and Excel experience
  • Methodical approach to interpreting customer requirements and delivering project documentation
  • Understanding of the full project lifecycle
Desirable Requirements:

Preference will be given to candidates demonstrating some or all of the following:

  • Experience of transmission and distribution substation control systems engineering
  • Experience of protection schemes
  • Experience of E&I installation
