About the Role

Crown Lift Trucks Ltd is seeking a skilled Battery Service Engineer to join our team. As a Battery Service Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out service and repairs to all battery equipment on customer sites in a safe, professional, and cost-effective manner.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of at least two of the following areas: mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, hydraulics, battery, charger, and battery change systems. You will also have the ability to work independently and in a team, hold good communication skills, and work to a high standard.

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 08:00am to 16:30pm, with 30 minutes unpaid lunch. A company van and fuel card are provided, with the option for private use (subject to tax regulations). You will also receive 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, a company pension plan, and access to an excellent discount scheme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out service and repairs to all battery equipment on customer sites
  • Work to a planned schedule of service and maintenance jobs
  • Monitor and maintain van stock, ensuring sufficient supplies for daily maintenance
  • Diagnose faults to a component level
  • Accurately complete job sheets, timesheets, and purchase requisition and parts paperwork
Requirements
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Battery, charger, and change systems knowledge
  • Proficient in fault finding and repair
  • Educated with an ability to achieve a grade C in English and maths at GCSE
  • Experience of Health & Safety requirements working in a workshop practice
  • Commitment to continuing personal and professional development
