**Delivering Safe and Efficient Highways**

Suffolk County Council is seeking a highly skilled Highway Safety Specialist to join our Highways Team. As a member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our highways.

In this role, you will conduct regular highway safety inspections, respond to customer reports, and initiate reactive repair works as needed. You will also perform regular audits of completed works to maintain high-quality standards.

As a Highway Safety Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues, develop your skills and knowledge, and contribute to the delivery of our services. You will also be part of a team that values teamwork, respect, and open communication.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Conducting regular highway safety inspections to identify and address safety concerns
  • Responding to customer reports by carrying out ad-hoc safety inspections and providing updates on outcomes
  • Initiating reactive repair works based on inspection findings to restore highways to a safe condition
  • Performing regular audits of completed works to maintain high-quality standards

The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and prioritise work effectively. They should also be comfortable working with technology and software systems used in highway management and inspections.

**Employment Details:**

  • A competitive salary of £32,076 per annum (pro rata if part-time)
  • 37 hours per week, with flexible working options available
