What We're Looking For

We're seeking a dedicated and experienced teaching assistant to join our team. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide support and interventions for students with special educational needs. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our students and contribute to the school's inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with special educational needs in a variety of settings
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans
  • Providing interventions and support to students with autism, social emotional and mental health difficulties, and other special needs
  • Contributing to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture
Requirements

  • Good standard of education, particularly in literacy and numeracy
  • Previous experience in an education environment
  • Experience of working with students, parents, and professionals
  • Experience of training and knowledge in relation to the code of practice
  • Experience and understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work constructively as part of a team
  • Good standard of numeracy and literacy skills
  • Ability to use basic ICT packages and equipment effectively
  • Ability to absorb and understand a wide range of information
  • Basic understanding of child development and learning principles
  • Good working knowledge of behavior management strategies
  • Good understanding and experience of effective strategies and interventions to support pupils with SEND
