What We're Looking For
We're seeking a dedicated and experienced teaching assistant to join our team. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide support and interventions for students with special educational needs. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our students and contribute to the school's inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting students with special educational needs in a variety of settings
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans
- Providing interventions and support to students with autism, social emotional and mental health difficulties, and other special needs
- Contributing to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture
- Good standard of education, particularly in literacy and numeracy
- Previous experience in an education environment
- Experience of working with students, parents, and professionals
- Experience of training and knowledge in relation to the code of practice
- Experience and understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work constructively as part of a team
- Good standard of numeracy and literacy skills
- Ability to use basic ICT packages and equipment effectively
- Ability to absorb and understand a wide range of information
- Basic understanding of child development and learning principles
- Good working knowledge of behavior management strategies
- Good understanding and experience of effective strategies and interventions to support pupils with SEND
