We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nephrology Consultant to join our team at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading the development of the Nephrology service, and collaborating with other clinical colleagues.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert clinical care to patients with renal conditions, including acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease.
- Develop and implement treatment protocols and guidelines for Nephrology conditions.
- Collaborate with other clinical colleagues to improve patient outcomes and develop shared care strategies.
- Participate in clinical governance, risk management, and clinical audit activities to ensure safe clinical practice.
- Ensure own practice is up to date and comply with all relevant Trust policies and procedures.
- Conduct daily ward rounds on Ward 15, a 27-bedded ward shared between two consultants.
- Deliver outpatient clinics three times a week.
- Provide inpatient acute kidney injury service for stages 2 and 3 AKIs.
- Liaise with the AKI CNS team daily.
- Assist in the Cardio renal service in collaboration with the Cardiology department.
- Participate in one session a week for the acute medicine department.
- Develop shared care strategies with primary care and participate in primary care education about chronic kidney disease.
