About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Director to lead our team in the UK offices. As a key member of our multidisciplinary design consultancy, you will be responsible for overseeing Civil Engineering and Infrastructure design projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate project research, including site surveys and site inspections, to ensure accurate and efficient project delivery.
  • Prepare bid and contract documentation, working closely with other departments to secure new business opportunities.
  • Responsible for the competency assessment of staff involved in the project, ensuring they have the necessary skills and expertise to deliver high-quality results.
  • Ability to organize and conduct several activities simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with individuals from other organizations, generating market intelligence and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Able to prepare single discipline bid documentation, working in association with other disciplines to deliver comprehensive and compelling bids.
  • Prove ability in financial arrangements for projects, including fee forecasting, preparation, and allocation, ensuring accurate and efficient financial management.
  • Apply and promote policies relating to health and safety, quality, and training, ensuring a safe and productive working environment.
  • Provide guidance, instruction, motivation, and management to assigned staff on the project, fostering a collaborative and supportive team culture.
Requirements
  • BEng/MEng (Hons) Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer, MICE, with a strong track record of leadership and project management.
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and other relevant design software.
  • Experience or knowledge of resourcing, progress measurement, earned value analysis, completion forecasting, and status reporting.
  • A confident and professional manner, coupled with excellent communication skills, to effectively influence and engage with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and proven ability to deliver to deadlines, ensuring projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
