About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef Manager to join our team at Sanctuary Care. As a key member of our catering team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our busy kitchen, ensuring that our residents receive high-quality meals that meet their dietary needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the kitchen team, including the Assistant Chef and Catering Assistants, to ensure smooth operation and high standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Oversee the ordering and stock management of ingredients and supplies, ensuring that the kitchen remains within budget.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards in the kitchen.
  • Recruit, train, and develop staff to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Work closely with the catering team to plan and implement menus that meet the dietary needs of our residents.
  • Ensure that the kitchen remains clean and tidy, adhering to health and safety standards and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience of catering for older people, with a valid food hygiene certificate.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and external partners.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
