Specialist Study Skills Tutor

Beacon Support Ltd. is seeking a Specialist One-to-One Study Skills and Strategy Support Tutor (ASC) to work with Higher Education students. This role offers flexible hours to work around you, while making a positive impact on students' educational experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with students with Autistic Spectrum Conditions to develop learning strategies that improve study skills and enable independence.
  • Act as a facilitator to help students overcome barriers to learning, including memory, organisational, attention, and numeracy difficulties.
  • Collaborate with students to create Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and provide one-to-one support.
  • Participate in thorough induction training and staff development, as well as a dynamic CPD programme with regular training events, including ADHD and ASC training.

Requirements:

  • Teaching qualification
  • NAS 6 modules and NADP Working Effectively with Autistic University Students course
  • NAS 6 modules and in-house/other accredited training for autism in HE
  • A relevant degree/PG cert (Autism)/Masters (Autism/Disability)

About the Role:

This is a specialist role, requiring substantial experience of working with students with ASC on a one-to-one basis, as well as experience of working with these disabilities in an educational/learning environment.
