Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Director of Finance to join our team at London LGBT Community Pride CIC.

About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a key leadership position and contribute to the success of our organisation. As the Director of Finance, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial strategy and operations of the company, ensuring that we meet our budget responsibilities and achieve our goals.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in finance, including experience in accounting, budgeting, and financial planning. You should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of the finance and accounting strategy
  • Day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger maintenance, reconciliation, and expenses
  • Preparation and analysis of financial reports (income statements and balance sheets), presentation to the board
  • Cash flow management, forecasting, and coordination with external accounting firms
  • Accounting, audit, and tax functions compliance
  • Volunteer finance team management and recruitment
Requirements:
  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 3+ years experience
  • Ability to operate between strategic and operational levels
  • Experience in finance roles, including annual accounts preparation, budgets, cash-flow forecasts, and financial systems development
  • Advanced Excel and accountancy software skills (Xero knowledge beneficial)
  • Experience in dealing with auditors
  • Strong people and interpersonal skills, with effective communication and influencing abilities
  • Thorough understanding of accounting standards
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Legislative and regulatory frameworks knowledge
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
