Grounds Maintenance Operative Job Description

Berry Recruitment is seeking a skilled Grounds Maintenance Operative to join their team in Peterborough. As a key member of the grounds maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep of our client's outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake all aspects of grounds maintenance, including shrub cutting, hedge cutting/pruning, strimming, weeding, and litter picking.
  • Operate small tools and plant, such as petrol hedgecutters and blowers.
  • Drive company vehicles (up to 3.5T) as required.
  • Ensure daily work schedules are followed and maintained to a consistent high standard.
  • Complete training in the use of equipment and safe methods of work.
  • Conduct daily safety checks on all vehicles and equipment, report defects as required, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Liaise with members of the public, team members, managers, and sub-contractors in a professional and courteous manner.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Assist with other areas of the Streetcare service as required.
Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week, with a Friday finish at 12:45pm every week.

This is a 7:15am start.
