We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Logistics Operations Specialist to join our team at GP Logistics in Newport, UK.

About the Role:

This is a dynamic and challenging role that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. As a Logistics Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing logistics operations, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Candidate must have extensive experience working as a Logistics Coordinator.
  • Responsibility for accurately preparing, completing, and communicating documentation via third-party bespoke software or government portals.
  • Accurately calculating invoice sales within our operating system 'Datafreight. Net'.
  • Maintaining strong working relationships with clients, warehouse terminal personnel, and other stakeholders.
  • Providing training and support to new employees in the role of Logistics Coordinator.
  • Promptly communicating problems, particularly emergency situations, in accordance with established procedures.
  • Attending offsite and onsite training courses to enhance knowledge and experience.
  • Working out-of-office hours, evenings, and weekends as per the department's rota system or directed by the manager/director.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of one full year of experience in an equivalent position in the industry.
  • Proven competency as a Logistics Coordinator with the company.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Self-discipline, reliability, and ability to work to set timeframes, often out-of-office hours.
