Job Overview

Peterborough City Council is seeking a highly skilled Educational Psychologist to join their dynamic and caring Educational Psychology Service (EPS). The ideal candidate will have experience in supporting children, young people, and adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and be able to deliver high-quality services that meet the needs of schools and communities.

About the Role
  • This full-time or part-time opportunity is suitable for an experienced Educational Psychologist in Year 2 or 3 of their doctoral training, offering a competitive salary range of £46,525-£56,540, plus up to 3 SPA points (£61,848).
  • The successful candidate will work closely with the EPS team to provide consultation, assessment, and intervention services to support the delivery of inclusive education practices.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver high-quality consultancy services to schools and other settings to promote inclusive practice and support the development of whole-school approaches.
  2. Collaborate with the EPS team to develop and deliver comprehensive assessment and intervention programs tailored to individual children's needs.
  3. Maintain accurate records of assessments, interventions, and progress monitoring, ensuring effective communication with schools and families.
  4. Participate in regular supervision and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in line with best practices.
Requirements
  • A relevant doctoral qualification in Educational Psychology (or near completion) and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Demonstrated experience working with children, young people, and adults with SEN, including those with complex needs.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
