Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Empowering Learning. This is a full-time position in Croydon, where you will provide 1:1 support to children with mild SEN, helping them to thrive in a mainstream primary school setting.

About the Role

This role involves creating a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment, where children feel accepted, included, and ready to take on new challenges. You will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support the child's development, and foster a positive, inclusive, and accepting classroom atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support to children with mild SEN, helping them engage with and access the curriculum.
  • Assist in creating a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Implement individualised learning plans and strategies tailored to the needs of the child.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support the child's development.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and accepting classroom atmosphere.
Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for someone with a strong commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team. Previous experience working with children with SEN is preferred, but not essential.
