Key Responsibilities- Risk Management: Spend 50/50 time in the office and on-site, using expert knowledge and experience to control risks at work and ensure the company meets current safety standards and legal requirements.
- Communication: Communicate effectively across all levels of the company in delivering the health and safety message.
- Policy Development: Be instrumental in the planning, production, and implementation of new policies, procedures, strategies, and safe systems of work to raise or maintain safety standards.
- Monitoring and Review: Monitor and review both written and operational works to ensure their effectiveness and compliance.
- Training and Development: Train new employees and existing employees, hold and carry out inductions, fire training, and manual handling training, overseeing of training plans, booking combination courses, reviewing shot blaster and saw training, writing and carrying out toolbox talks.
- Accident Investigation: Investigate accidents and near misses, looking for trends, writing up accident reports, and reviewing control reports.
- Qualifications: NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum, diploma preferred, IEMA or other suitable environmental qualification desirable, ISO 45001, 14001 or similar auditing qualification desirable.
- Experience: Ideally 3 years' experience within this or similar manufacturing industry, experience of management systems to ISO 45001, 14001 would be advantageous.
- Skills: Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation, ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, excellent communication and people management skills, full UK driver's license.
