We are looking to appoint an Environmental Health Specialist for a temporary contract with the possibility of being extended or converted to a permanent position. The role offers a competitive salary, negotiable based on experience, and will be based in KT10 9SD.

The successful candidate will work independently to develop, prioritize, and review activities to achieve set objectives. This includes conducting daily tasks such as inspections and investigations, monitoring progress, and maintaining records. Additionally, they will participate in project work as required and ensure that appropriate records are maintained, including those stored in Northgate and other systems.

  • Responsibilities include programmed routine and reactive food hygiene inspections, complaint investigations across Food Safety, and enforcement in line with our policy and principles.
  • To access and use a vehicle for work purposes throughout the borough is essential.

We require applicants with professional qualifications in Environmental Health (e.g. degree or diploma), registered with EHORB, and membership of CIEH. Previous experience working in a regulatory setting, dealing with members of the public, business, and external organizations, delivering excellent customer service, and undertaking prosecutions is highly valued.
