Assistant Accountant Job Description

Frizelle Sunshine Automotive is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Accountant to join our dynamic Accounts department in Southport. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing financial support and analysis to ensure the smooth operation of our business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deal Processing functions; cost accounting
  • Allocation of funds receivables
  • General journals
  • Preparation of the monthly management accounts in an accurate and timely manner, and in accordance to accounting standards
  • Extensive Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Reporting & Analysis of P&L statements
  • Assist in the statutory tax reporting namely, GST, LCT, FBT and PAYG
  • Cash flow management
  • Assist in external audit preparation/requirements
  • Manufacturer reporting
  • Support for the Dealership Accountant
  • Work on projects where necessary as directed by the Financial Controller
  • Effective communication with Managers and employees alike from various departments
Requirements:
  • Either an experienced Assistant Accountant or Graduate Accountant (Tax and Audit background encouraged to apply)
  • Either an Accounting Degree (highly desirable) or any accounting study will be viewed highly, or working towards
  • Automotive Dealership background not essential, but desirable
  • An ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong communication skills both within a department and with stakeholders in the broader Group
  • Strong attention to detail
  • High analytical skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
