About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team at Streamline Search Ltd. as a key member of our Commercial and Pre-Construction Teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for a variety of construction projects, with a focus on the public sector.
  • Utilize estimating software such as Causeway and Bluebeam to create, manage, and analyze estimates, providing input on pricing strategies and risk assessments.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of project specifications, drawings, and contracts to identify potential risks, opportunities, and cost-saving measures.
  • Leverage your experience in the public sector to accurately estimate costs for government-funded projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure the best value and quality for the project, developing and maintaining relationships with key subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Identify opportunities for value engineering while maintaining quality and compliance with client specifications.
  • Work closely with the Commercial and Project Management Teams to ensure that estimates are aligned with project goals and objectives, providing support during post-tender negotiations and contract handovers.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience as a Senior Estimator, with a significant portion spent working for a main contractor on public sector projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in using estimating software such as Causeway and Bluebeam, with experience with other relevant software tools a plus.
  • Deep understanding of the construction industry, including the commercial, residential, education, healthcare, and heritage sectors.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to assess project risks, opportunities, and cost implications accurately.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
