About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Glasgow. As a key member of our building services team, you will be responsible for designing and specifying mechanical building services systems, including HVAC systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and specification of mechanical building services systems, including HVAC systems
  • Carry out detailed calculations using industry-standard software tools, including Excel, Revit, and IES
  • Represent the organisation at meetings with clients and contractors
  • Site surveys, inspections, and monitoring of site work
  • Report and technical note writing
  • Maintaining complete records and archives to company standards
  • Adherence to quality, environmental, and governance processes
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related subjects
  • Proficient in energy reduction methods and approaches to decarbonising new and existing buildings
  • Understanding of energy and carbon-related data capture and analytics
  • Familiarity with building physics, including passive design solutions and fabric first approaches
  • Competent in designing for measurement and verification, including experience of commissioning and post-installation evaluation of performance
  • Good level of computer literacy in digital tools, including IES thermal modelling package, Navisworks, Hevacomp, One Click, NBS, and Microsoft packages
  • Experience working in a design consultancy and/or contractor design environment
  • Detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards
