Electrical Design Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Oxford Metrics Plc. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical control systems for industrial automation machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Utilize AutoCAD Electrical to design panels and electrical schematics for small retro-fit camera systems through to large industrial automation machinery.
  • Component Selection: Specify components that drive the future of IVS automation systems, ensuring adherence to international standards.
  • Collaboration: Partner with our Applications Engineering team to ensure projects are delivered on time and with precision.
  • Hands-On Experience: Participate in the hands-on electrical build of our innovative IVS systems when needed.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest generation of vision engineering, expanding your skill set and staying at the forefront of technological advancements.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3+ years of industry experience.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience using AutoCAD Electrical or similar package.
  • Understanding of electrical control gear and industrial automation.
  • Experience designing and creating electrical panel layouts.
  • A logical approach to problem-solving.
  • Well-organized, ability to work to deadlines and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – both written and verbal.
  • Ability and willingness to work as part of a team.
