We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Respite Nurse to join our team at James Hopkins Trust. As a Respite Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children with life-threatening or life-limiting conditions and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide respite care to children in their own homes or at our multi-sensory respite centre, Kites Corner.
- Work in partnership with families to develop and implement individual care plans that meet their unique needs.
- Administer medication, record and store it safely, and maintain accurate and timely records.
- Attend multi-professional meetings and liaise with other professionals as necessary.
- Facilitate outings, play, and activities that are appropriate to the child's age and development needs.
- Maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and timeliness in all records and communications.
- Ensure that the cultural needs of children and families are met appropriately.
- Adhere to James Hopkins Trust's policies and procedures, including those related to safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality.
- Registered Children's Nurse or RNC/RN with Paediatric Experience.
- Live entry on the NMC Register.
- Good interpersonal skills, ability to maintain boundaries, and flexibility to work on own initiative.
- Competent in drug calculations and willingness to learn and undertake appropriate training.
- Proven experience of communicating sensitively in challenging situations with patients and families.
