Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Power Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Electrical Power Systems Definition team, you will be responsible for defining the needs of equipment, designing system elements, and creating design documentation, spatial modelling, and build outputs for the UK's next-generation SSN design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Functional design and definition of Electrical Power Systems equipment
  • Authoring and reviewing technical documentation
  • Managing associated technical risks, assumptions, and dependencies
  • Providing advice on electrical power technical aspects across a broad range of engineering disciplines
  • Engaging with customers and suppliers to provide solutions to complex problems
  • Taking a leading role by guiding more junior members of the team through the systems definition process

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent Engineering experience
  • Engineering Chartership required (or significant progress towards Chartership can be demonstrated)
  • Significant knowledge of AC and DC electrical power systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
