Colas Ltd, a UK subsidiary of the global Colas Group, is seeking a skilled Highway Maintenance Operative to join our team. As a Zonal Response Team (ZRT) Operative, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our highways maintenance services.

Main Responsibilities

As a Highway Maintenance Operative, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Safely carrying out temporary defect repairs
  • Applying safe methods of working to all activities
  • Understanding and following procedures relating to Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations
  • Understanding and following procedures relating to Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome regulations (HAVS)
  • Driving within the confines of The Road Traffic Act
  • Operating machinery as required and directed by the Supervisor
  • Installing/Removing Traffic Management as required

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in a similar highway's maintenance environment
  • C1E driving experience
  • Flexibility and hardworking individuals
  • Enthusiasm and ability to work within a small team
  • A valid UK Driving Licence (Essential)
  • HGV Class 2 Licence is required unless you come from a strong Traffic Management work background
