Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Supporting Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Supporting Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of children with special educational needs (SEN) in a KS1 setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and activities to children with SEN
  • Assist with the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for children with SEN
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to children with SEN, promoting their social, emotional, and behavioral development
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to identify and address the needs of children with SEN
  • Contribute to the creation of a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes the well-being and engagement of all children

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, preferably in a KS1 setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Patience, empathy, and a calm demeanor when working with children with challenging behaviors
  • Basic knowledge of SEN and its impact on children's learning and development
