We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Assistant to join our Outpatients Department on a permanent full-time basis. As a key member of our team, you will provide support to senior outpatient clinical staff in delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist registered nurses in the assessment and planning of patient care, participating in the implementation and evaluation of nursing care without direct supervision.
- Deal with client and consultant requests in a professional and efficient manner.
- Chaperone during patient consultations and assist consultants with injections and minor procedures.
- Perform wound assessments, change dressings, and assist with removal of casts, venepuncture, MRSA screening, and pre-op screening.
- Apply splints, supports, and braces, and assist registered nurses with more complex procedures.
- Support radiologists during ultrasound clinics by organizing clinic lists, preparing patients, and assisting with sterile procedures.
- Assist in the MRI/X-ray department to ensure efficient running of lists without compromising patient care.
- Ensure the safe use and maintenance of equipment used within the clinic.
- Perform daily and weekly checks to ensure adherence to clinical governance standards.
- GCSEs in Math and English (or equivalent)
- Relevant phlebotomy course and current clinical practice in this area (essential)
- IT literacy
- Previous experience in a similar role within an NHS or private hospital setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow instructions and provide feedback to senior staff
- Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
