Job Title: Senior Legal Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Advisor to join our Banking Operations team at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). As a key member of our legal team, you will play a critical role in shaping the bank's lending and investment transactions, providing expert legal advice, and supporting our policy development in the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the structuring of transactions, including secured and unsecured lending operations and private and public equity investments, across EBRD's operating region;
  • Manage external law firms and draft and negotiate transaction documents, ensuring compliance with EBRD's environmental and other policy requirements;
  • Collaborate with colleagues to carry out EBRD's policy mandate in its lending and equity operations;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, colleagues, and external partners;
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends, regulatory developments, and best practices in international law.
Requirements:
  • Law degree from a leading university in your home country;
  • At least five years of experience in international law, preferably in a top commercial/investment bank, international organisation, or leading law firm;
  • Relevant professional experience working on English law governed financing agreements in cross-border banking transactions, private equity investments, or other relevant fields;
  • Excellent command of the English language, including excellent skills to draft and negotiate legal documents;
  • Strong negotiation and project management skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
