We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Advisor to join our team at Legal & General. As a key member of our legal department, you will provide expert legal advice and support to our business teams, ensuring that our operations are conducted in a compliant and risk-managed manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide robust legal advice on corporate/M&A transactions, including negotiation, execution, and management of transactions
  • Support the Assistant General Counsel – Capital Investments in providing a first-class legal service to the Asset Management division
  • Work closely with our Private Markets investment teams to structure, execute, and oversee investments across various sectors
  • Identify and drive process change within the legal team and the wider business
  • Deliver high-quality advice within tight timeframes, meeting commercial needs and expectations
Requirements:
  • Qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with a minimum of 4 years' post-qualification experience in a leading law firm or in-house
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant statutory, regulatory, and common laws, including those applicable to corporate law in a major financial services group
  • Experience in advising on a broad range of general corporate matters, including mergers & acquisitions, disposals, minority investments, and consortium/joint venture arrangements
  • Familiarity with funds transactions, private equity, and/or energy/infrastructure transactions is highly desirable
  • Ability to identify potential problems, escalate where necessary, and find solutions
  • Commercial mindset with good judgment and willingness to use it
