About the Role

Arla Foods is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift Lead to join our Operations team at our Oswestry Cheese Packaging Facility in Shropshire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage performance, safety, quality, and cost savings in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deliver operational plans and set day-to-day team objectives, including the site business plan.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and good working environment, utilizing 5S principles.
  • Implement and monitor GMP standards.
  • Assist the team in achieving their objectives through coaching, hands-on support, and resource organization.
  • Manage direct reports, including investigations and performance management.
  • Ensure a cost-efficient and stable production process, emphasizing SIC/KPI.
  • Collaborate with the M&E team leader to ensure performance alignment and technical issue resolution.
  • Contribute to process development and Continuous Improvement.
  • Implement the department Business Plan, including own objectives.
  • Conduct walking tours and process confirmation.
  • Drive performance through daily direction setting meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with Arla's standards in Food Safety, H&S, Environment, and conduct internal audits.
  • Manage emergency situations on site.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of food manufacturing/FMCG.
  • Experience managing large teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean Principles (Six Sigma qualification) is preferred.
  • Previous experience in FMCG or dairy industry is advantageous, but not essential, as training will be provided.
