Job Opportunity at The Compleat Food Group

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Market Drayton. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production machinery and equipment.

About the Role

  • Assist in the direct oversight of departmental daily operations, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Supervise and participate in the completion of assigned Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedules, ensuring that departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met.
  • Communicate clearly with colleagues and management regarding breakdowns and repairs, utilizing verbal and written reports to ensure seamless communication.
  • Perform major repairs of mechanical and electrical systems, utilizing your expertise to identify and implement improvements to PM schedules.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Planned Maintenance Manager, Operations, QA/Technical teams to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
  • Supervise the pre-startup of production equipment, ensuring that all necessary checks are completed before production begins.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and implement changes to enhance operational productivity.
  • Ensure adherence to company procedures, legislation, and Good Working Practices at all times.
  • Assign, train, and develop the work of engineering team members on shift.

Safety, Health & Environment

  • Ensure that Health and Safety is not compromised in any way by yourself or others.
  • Ensure that Health and Safety practices are followed and displayed at all times.
  • Attend Health and Safety meetings as an Engineering representative.

Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Effective communication and a good understanding of FMCG production activities.
  • Ability to complete assigned PMs and Work Requests to agreed KPIs.
  • Good communication and updates given to all relevant departments.
  • Hands-on support to engineers, ensuring that all breakdowns and planned repairs are completed effectively and on time.
  • Evolve and improve written PMs to ensure they are effective and provide value.
  • Good communication and ability to discuss issues, attain good feedback.
  • Ensure that all plant and equipment complete a Pre-startup with no start-up issues.
  • Equipment performance and capability to complete production plan and cost savings.
  • No reported incidents and malpractice.
  • Effective and productive team.
