About the Role

Cognus Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Education and Family Liaison Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Inclusion Service, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational inclusion of Traveller pupils and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise and challenge schools, partners, and stakeholders on best practice for the educational inclusion of Traveller pupils.
  • Provide education support for Traveller pupils, including 1:1 or small group learning support and personal development.
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with families of Traveller children, enhancing the home-school partnership.
  • Support planning meetings and other meetings as required, such as admission meetings.
  • Provide information, advice, and guidance on the law in relation to Traveller pupils to ensure equal opportunities.
  • Use data for monitoring and evaluation purposes, ensuring accurate recording and reporting.

Requirements

  • Practical experience of working with children and young people in educational settings, ideally at secondary level.
  • Extensive experience of multi-agency working and partnership to ensure suitable support packages.
  • Experience of working with vulnerable pupils and managing time effectively.
  • Excellent organisational skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to use information technology effectively and work flexibly.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and protection of children, and understanding of equal opportunities issues and practices.
