Behaviour Mentor Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Behaviour Mentor to join our support staff at a SEMH school in Chorley. The successful candidate will provide behaviour support for youngsters with additional needs, working closely with the school's tight-knit team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide opportunities for academic, social, and emotional progress
  • Lead by example as a role model, demonstrating positive behaviour and attitudes
  • Understand and respond to individual personalities and needs
  • Offer guidance and mentoring to students
  • Create a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Manage challenging or disruptive behaviour
  • Offer advice and support to students and staff
  • Develop self-confidence, positive self-image, and independence in students
Candidate Requirements:
  • Experience working with special educational needs (career or personal)
  • A passion for working within education
  • A positive, creative, and proactive approach to supporting students with diverse needs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with students, staff, and families
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued in the last year
Eligibility Criteria:
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child-related references that cover the last 2 years
