Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered General Nurse to join our team in the 21-bedded elderly rehabilitation unit, Avocet Ward. As a Band 5 Locum Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing expert patient care and rehabilitation services.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing and implementing programmes of care, and evaluating their input to support the facilitation of appropriate discharge back to the community. You will work closely with the nurse in charge to ensure effective and efficient day-to-day running of the centre, prioritizing patient safety at all times.

Main Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the assessment, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Identify subtle changes in patient condition and take clinical actions, reporting concerns to senior nursing and medical staff.
  • Ensure care is delivered safely and effectively based on evidence of good practice.
  • Contribute to the information required to support Care Quality Commission inspections.
  • Facilitate compliance of other staff with local and national standards of good practice.
  • Assist in the delivery of learning opportunities for colleagues.
  • Contribute to the induction and training of students and new staff.
  • Work effectively as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to support local service objectives.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical governance and quality agenda for the service.
Requirements
  • Degree level or equivalent professional nursing qualification.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • NMC Registration.
  • Qualification in teaching and mentoring.
  • Diagnostics and Consultation qualification.
  • Extended & Supplementary Prescriber.
