About the Role
County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled Theatre Scrub Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care within the perioperative environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Participate in the monitoring of standards of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Provide expert knowledge of all clinical specialties and act as a role model.
- Participate in audit and monitoring accurate documentation in accordance with Trust policy, NMC, and HPC guidelines.
- Ensure the safe administration of drugs in accordance with Trust Policy, and NMC and HPC guidelines.
- Ensure that all procedures and techniques are carried out in accordance with local competencies and agreed policies and standards.
- Ensure rights, dignity, and confidentiality of the patient are protected at all times.
- Act as patients advocate in all matters relating to his/her care, treatment, and welfare.
- Checking on departmental cleanliness and where necessary assisting other members of the team in the preparation, clearing, and cleaning of the operating suite and equipment before, during, and after operating.
About Us
County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust provides hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield, and Weardale as well as over 80 other community-based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
