Job Description

Long O Donnell Associates Limited is a leading consultant providing engineering, project, and programme management solutions to clients in the energy, infrastructure, and governmental sectors.

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer (Gas) to join our team. The successful candidate will have broad experience working in the gas or utilities industry, extensive relevant experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer, and a HNC or degree in a relevant discipline.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake feasibility and conceptual studies of gas engineering projects.
  • Undertake mechanical design of gas pipelines, mains, and associated AGI's and governors.
  • Prepare technical specifications, reports, and associated documentation in line with UK and international gas industry design codes.
  • Liaise with CAD team to produce drawings as per specifications.
  • Engineer projects during the engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
  • Provide technical input into main works invitations to tender, orders, projects, and tasks.
  • Manage a team of engineers and support the growth of the mechanical design sector within the business.

Requirements:

  • Previous engineering experience and competence in gas transmission and gas distribution engineering activities.
  • Previous experience working at an engineer/senior mechanical engineer capacity within the gas, oil, energy sectors.
  • Full conversant knowledge and use of the Microsoft office suite of software applications.
  • An HNC or degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate engineering discipline.
