Packaging Development Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Packaging Development Engineer to drive innovation within our partner organisation in Buckinghamshire.

You will lead the development of sustainable packaging solutions and support the expansion of their market presence.

This role requires a passion for engineering with a science or engineering degree and proven experience with packaging materials applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Laboratory Management: Oversee climate chamber testing, ensuring continuous improvement and ISTA accreditation within two years.
  • Packaging Development: Innovate and enhance packaging solutions, focusing on Phase Change Materials (PCM).
  • Sustainability: Lead projects aimed at developing environmentally friendly packaging solutions, aligned with corporate sustainability goals.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all packaging meets stringent quality standards.
  • Market Expansion: Provide technical support for market growth and customer presentations.
  • Reporting: Regular updates to the QA Manager on projects and market trends.

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in Chemical Engineering or related scientific/engineering field.
  • Proven experience in packaging engineering.
  • CAD Design or thermal modelling software experience.
  • Knowledge of ISTA/ANFOR standards and climate chamber testing.
  • Knowledge of developing PCM solutions.
  • Strong project management and communication skills.
  • Experience in Cold Chain, Pharmaceutical, Packaging, or FMCG sectors is a plus.
