Security Services Manager

As a key member of the Protective Security Team at Thames Water, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security of our critical assets and corporate locations. Your expertise will be instrumental in directing and controlling the performance of our security services, mitigating risks to the company from national security threats, and promoting security within the business.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the performance of security services, including static guarding, mobile patrolling, and temporary electronic security systems, across the Thames Water estate.
- Proactively engage with service providers, monitor KPIs and SLAs, and produce reports for senior management and financial management.
- Own and maintain proactive patrol routes and associated resources, ensuring all agreed sites are patrolled as required, incidents are responded to, and overall performance is audited and reported.
- Develop and maintain site security procedures for corporate locations, investigate security incidents, and review site security risk assessments.
- Represent the Protective Security Team at regional meetings, with suppliers, regional business functions, and internal team meetings as required.
- Execute additional tasks to meet departmental/team project-related, development, and change objectives.
- Provide practical security advice aligned with relevant regulations, policies, and standards.
- Promote common standards and alignment of security policy and practice across Thames Water, including responsibility for compliance assessments, waivers, and the adoption of best practices.
- Maintain and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Intelligence Agencies, Specialist Police Units, Local Resilience Forums, and Regulators.
- Test and exercise security arrangements to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Plan and be responsible for bespoke security projects, working with project teams to oversee security arrangements and other initiatives.
- Experience of senior leadership within a security role, including security services, protective security, intelligence, security management, or risk management.
- Experience in mobilising new services, implementing new initiatives, and overseeing project delivery.
- Experience in conducting security risk assessments, report writing, and investigating security incidents.
- Experience in managing static and mobile guarding services as a service provider, including interpreting data and producing MI reports and dashboards.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI).
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise own workload and react to changing priorities.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities and strong negotiation and people-influencing skills.
- UK driving license required.
- Salary between £46,000 - £52,000 per annum, depending on experience and skills.
- 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 28 with the length of service (plus bank holidays).
- £4,500 car allowance.
- Contributory pension - Defined Contribution - Maximum of 12% - 2x employee contribution.
