About the School
We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher to join one of our Secondary SEND Schools in Newham. Our school provides a supportive and inclusive environment for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Role Description
As a SEND Teacher, you will support students' academic, social, and emotional development. You will work with student's sensory and communication development, and collaborate with teaching assistants and other support staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lesson Planning and Delivery: Plan and deliver tailored lessons to meet the needs of students with SEND.
- IEPs and Progress Monitoring: Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and assess and monitor student progress.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with teaching assistants and other support staff, and engage with parents and caregivers to provide regular updates on student progress.
- Liaison and Behaviour Support: Liaise with external agencies and professionals to support student development, and promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
Requirements and Benefits
- QTS or Equivalent: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- SEND Experience: Experience teaching children or young people with SEND.
- SEND Knowledge: Strong knowledge of SEND practices and inclusive education.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience and Empathy: Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
Salary and Benefits
The estimated salary for this role is £50,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including professional development opportunities, and a supportive working environment.
