Main Purpose of Role- Take responsibility for end-to-end service delivery as a Commission Manager.
- Ensure client objectives are met through effective cost management.
Senior Cost Managers handle commissions of varying sizes, typically within the £10m to £50m range.
Key Accountabilities- Coach junior staff, allocating roles and responsibilities for effective cost management.
- Advise clients on feasibility studies and procurement options.
- Manage estimating and cost planning stages, presenting the final cost plan to the client.
- Tender and procure, utilizing cost management tools and services.
- Conduct contract administration, dealing with post-contract cost variances and change control processes.
- Review cost allowances and conduct valuations on larger projects.
- Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and negotiate final accounts.
- Interface with clients, Project Managers, and consultants at all project stages.
- Collaborate with Turner & Townsend's project management team during project delivery.
- Lead a cost management team, ensuring delivery of accountabilities.
- Utilize digital cost management tools and services, including The Hive and CostX.
- Implement Embodied Carbon Calculator for carbon footprint reports.
- Support the execution of our NewLeaf strategy.
- Manage internal fees, job costing, and resourcing requirements.
Senior Cost Managers report to an Associate Director, Project Director, or Director.
Key Performance Indicators- Manage commissions to the right quality standards and complete efficiently and on time.
- Deliver service on commissions in line with the conditions of appointment.
- Develop good relationships with clients and the cross-functional team.
- Work effectively as a member of the cost management team.
- Identify opportunities for new business with existing clients.
- Track margin levels on all commissions.
- Cascade key information and data effectively.
