Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef Supervisor to lead our food production team at our North View Hospital in Manchester. This role offers the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art facility, providing high-quality food services to patients, staff, and visitors.

Main Responsibilities
  • Cooking and Food Preparation: Prepare and cook food according to recipes, production methods, and quality standards.
  • Portion Control and Documentation: Portion food accurately and complete production documentation as required.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and report any deficiencies in food production, quality, and temperature audit to the immediate supervisor.
  • Food Storage and Labelling: Ensure food is stored correctly and labelled to prevent cross-contamination.
  • HACCP Compliance: Adhere to HACCP principles in all food handling and preparation processes.
  • Catering Policy and Dietetic Requirements: Ensure all dietetic requirements are met and the catering policy is maintained.
  • Food Waste Management: Assist in the control and monitoring of food waste.

Person Specification
  • Education: City and Guilds 7061 & 7062, NVQ 2 Food Preparation or equivalent experience, Level 2 in Food Safety, and HACCP certification.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Trained Level 3 or 4 Food Safety, Allergen Level 3, and HACCP Advanced.
  • Essential Skills: Organisational skills, ability to motivate staff, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Desirable Skills: Approachable, confident, engaging, working knowledge of staff engagement, temperature and HACCP monitoring systems, and previous large-scale cooking experience.
