Job Title: Security Systems Engineer

SNAP is a leading digital marketplace for the haulage industry across Europe, connecting truck drivers, fleets, and roadside service providers through technology and security.

We have a unique opportunity for a Security Systems Engineer to join our team, working 37.5 hours per week in a field-based role. As a key member of our Access and Security team, you will deliver innovative security systems to businesses across the UK and EU, installing, commissioning, and maintaining a wide range of technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and commission ANPR systems, providing post-install customer technical support.
  • Install and commission Automated Parking Barriers, ensuring compliance with BS EN safety standards and company procedures.
  • Service Automated Parking Barriers to published safety standards and company procedures.
  • Install, commission, and maintain self-service payment systems, providing post-install customer technical support.
  • Install, commission, and maintain CCTV systems from various manufacturers, providing customer support in the event of technical issues.
  • Maintain and repair legacy CCTV systems from various manufacturers.
  • Install, commission, and maintain IT Networking equipment to support security system installations.
  • Install, terminate, and test copper and fibre network cabling to manufacturer specifications.
  • Install, commission, and maintain access control and intercom systems.
  • Distribute Body Worn Video cameras and provide user training on safe operation.
  • Provide customer technical support out of hours for all systems installed and/or maintained by SNAP Access and Security.
  • Install and maintain relevant signage at customer sites to meet legal, contractual, or customer requirements.
  • Provide training to customers on correct and safe system use.
  • Ensure accurate recording of spares and equipment used during visits.
  • Ensure vehicle and tools/equipment are maintained to a high and legally compliant standard.
  • Ensure prompt and accurate reporting of incidents and accidents.
  • Complete all relevant company documentation requirements and return promptly.
  • Liaise with Operations Manager on technical issues.
  • Embrace and support future technologies, products, and services as dictated by company strategy and changing markets.
Requirements:
  • Current IPAF Certification for types 1B, 3A, and 3B (preferred but not essential).
  • Proven experience within the industry and in-depth knowledge of Security Systems and industry standards.
  • Experience of installation, commissioning, and fault resolution of IP & Analogue CCTV Systems; Dahua, Hikvision, and iPro.
  • Experience of installation, commissioning, and fault resolution of ANPR systems (preferred but not essential).
  • Experience of installation, commissioning, and fault resolution of wired and wireless networking equipment.
  • Experience of installing and terminating CAT5e/CAT6 cabling.
  • Experience of installing and terminating fibre cabling (preferred but not essential).
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English.
  • Full, clean driving license with willingness to undertake European-wide travel and overnight stays.
  • Valid passport allowing unrestricted travel across Europe.
