Design Manager

United Living Group is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead our design team and drive the delivery of high-quality design solutions.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and develop the design team to ensure they have the necessary skills and resources to meet the company's design needs.
- Establish and manage department goals and objectives that align with the company's strategic plan.
- Coordinate with SMEs and engineers to create coordinated designs that meet project briefs and provide robust, cost-effective solutions.
- Represent the company as Designated Individual for Principal Design in accordance with CDM Regulations.
- Manage, produce, approve, and deliver Temporary Works Solutions.
- Lead the design work, liaising with the Engineering Director, Operations Managers, Project Managers, and Project Engineers to ensure the technical function is effective and efficient.
- Review alternative build methods and practices.
- Keep up to date with new and innovative products, legislations, and codes of practice.
- Assist the team in the management and compilation of the overall project.
- Minimum 5 years' experience working and delivering design solutions from first principles.
- MEng/MSc in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, ICA, Structural, Civil).
- Chartered Engineer with a relevant institution.
- Experience in leading technical teams.
- Ideal experience as Design/Engineering Manager previously.
- Ideal familiarity with and experience working to WIMES and other water company specifications.
- Management skills – staff, clients, commercial, and programs.
- Excellent computer literacy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent management/organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
- Excellent CDM and health and safety knowledge and application.
